There's a New Kid in Town....Kael!!

On July 12th, my sister Janine and I decided to do a house swap. I was in Peace River for my high school reunion and stayed at her place while trying to look 10 years younger:). My sister and her husband Jerrad were looking for one last romantic weekend in the city before her due date and stayed at my place. My place must have conjured feelings of an inviting ambiance for my nephew in utero as he decided to make his grand entrance that night! I take full credit for inducing his early arrival! Later that day Janine and Jerrad welcomed their first born baby boy, Kael into the world. At 10.2 pounds let us just say that he knew how to make an entrance! :). It was truly a family affair with our amazing Auntie Marie (midwife and auntie extraordinaire) delivering him at the hospital. My sis handled it like a champ (with only laughing gas on board) and Jerrad was one of the most supportive husbands that my aunt has ever seen. Kael made parents, grandparents, great grandparents, aunties and uncles out of us and we were beyond thrilled.

Although cute as a button at birth he has done nothing but get more beautiful and excessively charming as the months have sped by. Not only can he now support his own head but coo and flirt with anyone who holds him. He'd give any celebrity baby a run for best dressed and most adventurous! Janine and Jerrad have already got a stamp in his passport and have gone on numerous hiking/camping trips with him.

Nean and Jerrad have recently asked me to be Kael's Godmother!! I am going to head to the baptism Nov 15th and hope to be up on all sorts of spiritual guidance techniques. So far I have been working on memorizing bible scriptures and trying to reach enlightenment. Ok, maybe not but I am prepared to be the best auntie to him, babysit excessively and smother him in presents now and until he hits at least 30. Hurray for our little man and good luck in experiencing all this world has to offer. I think he has a pretty great start having us for a family, but I may be a tad bit biased.
