Goodbye Summer
August is over already! It never ceases to amaze me how time flies. I can reflect on my summer and say that...it rocked (isn't my vocabulary stupendous?). I have done more this summer than any other with trips to Peace River, Vancouver, Edmonton, Drumheller, Slave Lake, Hinton/Jasper and Golden, lots of hikes, bike riding, engagement parties, concerts and fun.
The highlight of August was the annual family get together at Lily Creek. What an great time. For all of you who have not been to Slave Lake (and I know its the majority of you reading this!!!) it is a diamond in the ruff. The natural beauty is outstanding and untouched. It is always great to get back to nature, have some fun and catch up with family. Late night fireworks, bonfires with northern lights to view, swimming, wind surfing, kayaking, fishing, biking and runs with Nean...not to mention the superb spread of food. My family is my rock and I am so blessed to belong to them and them to me.

Believe in the words that are written on the necklace. I hope they bring you peace. I know that your family is there for you always.
nice pics...looks awesome
Beautiful pictures. Who is the photographer? What great talent and a good eye for a photo. It's now November and last week there was a hostel that opened up on the east shores of Slave Lake, for all of you who don't camp. Of course camping at Lily Lake CANNOT be beat. The hostel is located at the new Boreal Bird Migration Interpretive Center, which also rocks, even if you don't like birds. There's alot to learn at the building for "saving the environment", such as composting toilets (don't smell abit-amazing), water collected from rain, recycled material for the building and geothermal heat/air conditioning. There's the tourism blurb for the east coast of Slave Lake, which starts at the town of SL and continue north for about 25 miles.
Dream High, Reach Deep, Be Strong, Count your blessings and Keep the Faith. You are an incredible woman.
