Bangkok

After three two full days of travel (left Calgary at 0630 am Wednesday and got here 0100 am friday or noon thursday your time). There is a 14 hour time difference so it is sort of disorientating as we seemed to have lost a day! Awoke to plus 30-35 degree weather! Lovely but humid!

We have been touring around Bangkok for the past few days and it is chaotic! The hussle and bussle of this city is unreal. The traffic is absolutely nuts and the constant thick layer of smog is unreal! The people are incredibly nice and constantly laughing. The street vendors have food more delicious than any top Thai restaurant in Canada! I LOVE PAD THAI and the satay chicken. We couldnt resist trying the deep fried meal worms...surprisingly good! We will work our way up to the deep friend crickets and cockroaches. Ok, maybe never the later!

Khao san road is insanity! There are sooo many vendors selling everything from rip off Diesel brand to sandals to food...anything you need. At night it is again transformed with the nightlife and night lights! The pubs and clubs there are fun. We drank some Singha beer at an Irish pub and then to Lava Club to dance.

The Grand Palace is lives up to its name. Immense and full of stunning art, gold, statues and temples. The emerald Buddha was great to see. Also saw another Wat with a 50 meter high gold Buddha. There are shrines to Buddha everywhere here. Today we are on our way to Ayuthaya and then to Sukhothai and Chaing Mai. It is so nice to be travelling again!
